Another big wave with a portuguese accent

Marti Paradisis has conquered the Surfing Life Oakley Big Wave Awards 2013, held in Australia.

The “Biggest Wave” of the year was awarded to Marti Paradisis, who scored a huge slab in Pedra Branca, Tasmania.

Pedra Branca (…) means “White Rock” in Portuguese. According to historian Kenneth McIntyre, Pedra Branca is one of only two Australian places with a name of Portuguese origin, the other being the Houtman Abrolhos islands in Western Australia.

God save the king

Mike Hastings of Jerilderie,  a forklift driver by trade, passed away in Australia at the age of 71. According to British history, he could have sat on the royal throne instead of Queen Elizabeth II.

He was a descendant of England’s House of York, whose dynastic struggle with the House of Lancaster became known as the Wars of the Roses, dramatised by William Shakespeare.

The same old story, in-breading and illegitimate children and all other sorts of playing with the crown jewels.

Bernand Tomic, WOG[a non-Anglo-Celtic European, esp. from Southern or Eastern Europe (e.g. Greek, Italian, Balkan, Slavic, etc.)] australiano, no ano passado fez suar Djokovic em Wimbledon e ontem venceu o Verdasco na primeira ronda.

O descanso do guerreiro
